Dear Friends,

This is my composition which Mr. Thomas asked me to post.. Happy reading :)

Whenever June watched news on bombings, she would remember an incident that happened years ago. Even though she wants to forget it, she cannot seem to. The incident almost cost her life. It all started like this…….
Colours danced across the expanse of the sky in dazzling red, orange and purple as the sun sank in the background. June was strolling toward Orchard MRT station while admiring the scene. She had just finished a day of shopping at Takashimaya. Commuters flooded the MRT station with empty stomachs, going home for a sumptuous dinner. June was squeezing her way to the nearest vacant bench. She managed to sit down before anyone else.
“Tick, tock, tick, tock…..” June heard a ticking sound under the seat. When she looked below, she saw a parcel. At that moment, an announcement was made, “Attention, passengers, please evacuates the station now! There is a bomb in the train!” June thought that the parcel could be a bomb. Children, women and men screamed and shouted. June turn as pale as a ghost and shrieked. She ran as fast as possible without looking back. Pandemonium struck and everyone headed desperately for the emergency exits as the bomb exploded. The evacuated crowd went berserk. Tormented cries of the victims filled the air. June felt a heavy impact which slammed her against the wall. What she saw was beyond her imagination, shattered glass, motionless bodies, injured people groaning in pain and paramedics attending to the injured, she could feel warm blood trickling down her forehead, after that she blacked out.
When she regained her consciousness, she saw her mother wiping her tears off her check. Her father was probably praying for her safety. “Ah, you have finally gained consciousness!” She turned her head to see a doctor smiling at her. “Your face was disfigured as we had to reform it.” The doctor took a mirror and showed her reflection. June was delighted, as this face was the face in her favourite sketch! Her family hugged her tightly. June felt a sharp pain and shouted, “Ouch!” “Whoops, I must have forgotten to tell you that she had fractured some of her bones.” the doctor said. June had to stay in the hospital for weeks before she recovered. She was told by her parents that it was a terrorist bombing which killed more than ten people and injured hundred.
Although this was nothing compared to the September 11th attack, this proves that we must fight against terrorism. So, everybody must play a part in Singapore’s fight against terrorism.
