Composition 7 & 8

Composition 7

Paragraph 1 :"Slam!" The doors of an ambulance was tightly closed as the incessant wailing of the ambulance siren rang through my head. The ambulance raced to the nearby hospital as I was tormented by images that flooded my mind, reminding me of that recent accident. It all happened so fast! It happened like this ... ...

Paragraph 2 :"Pass the ball!" I joyfully shouted to my younger brother, Sam , and requested for the ball. My family was at the beach on a weekend and we were having so much fun! My parents were sitting underneath a tree, enjoying the cool shade while reading the newspapers while my brothers and I were playing "Monkey in the middle". Justin was the monkey as he was the oldest.

Paragraph 3 :We were playing happily until we heard a scream. "Aah! Aah! Someone help!: A lady's glass-shattering voice caused every one's attention to be turned onto her. We stopped our game and rushed over with our parents to take a look at the commotion that was going on. "Who is this inconsiderate lady that is creating all this ruckus?"
I muttered under my breath.Squeezing through the crowd, I saw many people gasping in horror while pointing out at sea, feat rooted on the ground, faces' as white as sheet, as though they had seen a ghost. Looking at where they were pointing, I saw a misty figure that I assumed to be a man struggling desperately in the clear blue waters. "Someone help him! There are sharks in the waters!" Someone had finally mustered out enough courage to say something.

Paragraph 4 :Just then, Justin came from inside the crowd and was elated to find me there. "There you are Jasper, we have been looking for you!" Justin whispered into my ear. As he looked up into the horizon, he saw what I had seen earlier on. Suddenly, someone popped out of nowhere and jumped into the sea to save the drowning man. The water sucked the life out of the drowning man as he took a breath. Minutes seem endless as the swimmer edged closer to the drowning man whose name was Tom. Once the swimmer reached Tom, the swimmer went under the sea and came back half a minute later, gasping for air. The swimmer went down again and came up holding seaweed. He brought Tom to the shore and an off-duty doctor did cardiopulmonaryresuscitation (CPR)OR
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
on him. Tom was knocked unconscious because he had swallowed a dangerous amount of seawater. The doctor concluded that Tom's condition was stable.

Paragraph 5:Looking at my watch, I realised that ten minutes ago, I was still playing ball with Sam and Justin! This terrifying ordeal will be etched within my memory forever. It is certainly easier to remember than to forget ... ...

Composition 8

Paragraph 1 :"Clink, clink." The sound of the policemen sifting through the rummaged flat for evidence rang through my head as a posse of policemen cordoned off the area. The whole area was in complete chaos and madness as the thief was handcuffed. "He might have planted a bomb!" a woman shouted. On the outside, I looked calm. But on the inside, I was tormented by horrible images that flooded my mind. Pictures that helped the police by a big margin. On that fateful day, it just happened like this ... ...

Paragraph 2 : "Yes!School is finally over!"I muttered under my breath as I punched my fist into the air. As my house was just a stone's throw away from the school, it only took me a minute to walk back, let alone run! I decided to dash home as my mother had prepared my favourite food for me! "Aaaaa!" I screamed as I dashed at the speed of light towards my house. As I reached my house, I saw a suspicious figure walking along the second floor. He was pacing up and down as though he were to commit a crime! Soon, he walked silently towards Mr.Tan's house. Knowing clearly that Mr.Tan was away on a holiday, I sensed something amiss and decided to play the "investigator" for a day.

Paragraph 3 : I walked silently up the dark stairs to the second floor. By now, beads of perspiration formed on my forehead as I neared Mr.Tan's house. The door was slightly ajar and I saw a man wearing a mask. He resembled the person walking along the corridor! He had long hair and a wrench in his haversack. I immediately dialled 999.

Paragraph 4 :"Hello, Yishun Police Head Quarters, how may I help you?" a soothing voice calmed my inner fear by a little as I briefed them about the on-going situation. The operator informed me that they would disperse a posse of policemen down to the area to check. The moment I hung up, fear once again gripped me as I continued to watch the thief's every movement. Just as he was about to pick up a ming vase, a voice shattered the silence. "Come out! We've got you surrounded!" It was the police! I heaved a huge sigh of relief as I knew sooner or later i could be at home eating my favourite food. Knowing that his game was over, the thief slowly walked out of the flat. Upon seeing me, the thief brandished a nine milliliter handgun and took me hostage! I gasped in horror as I was staring down the barrel of a gun!

Paragraph 5 :"Tan Ah Hock, we know it's you! No point negotiating over the backs of innocent. If you kill that boy, your sentence will be life imprisonment! Give it up, you have nowhere to run!" the chief marshal boomed. Just then, the thief dropped his gun and raised both arms in the air. I gasped for air as I hoped that this ordeal would be over! Just then, a group of policemen appeared and handcuffed Tan Ah Hock. I took in deep breaths as I started to relive what had happened just minutes ago. Just then, my mother dashed towards me and hugged me tightly. "Oh darling! Thank goodness you're fine!" She said, tears streaming down her rosy red swollen cheeks.

Paragraph 6 :After taking my statement, the police gave me a token of appreciation, informing me that Singapore's most wanted criminal, Tan Ah Hock, was finally caught because of me! I learnt a valuable lesson:"Curiousity killed the cat". Who would have thought that being such an inquisitive boy could lead to so much trouble ... ...

My compo

“Ring!” the school bell rang and students dashed out of class after greeting the teacher. I was walking home. “Mom and Dad would be out today, I’ll have the house all by myself!” I exclaimed a I quicken my pace. As I walked through the familiar corridors to my house, I heard strange sound in my neighbour’s apartment. “Hmmm… I thought Mr and Mrs Tan were on a two week holiday. What could that noise be?” I thought aloud.
I crept to Mr Tan’s house. Looking at a broken lock, I slowly inch the door open. To my horror, a man was rummaging through drawers and a big safe box that was left open. The man had a big sack on his bag. I crept back and called the police. After alerting the police, I crept back into the house. Suddenly, the man gripped my shoulders. “Help! Help! Help!” I screamed. “Shut up! Or you will die!” I felt a metallic circle on my back. It could only mean one thing, a gun! “Don’t give me any trouble boy, I won’t hesitate to shoot. You will be my passport out of here. “You won’t escape! I’ve already called the police!” I retorted fearlessly. “The police won’t dare open fire or do anything if I have you as hostage.” When we entered the lift, the man pointed the gun at me. As the lift door opened, police officers saw me and back off. “Give me any trouble and the boy is a dead duck!” The burgular exclaimed.
He slowly walked to the nearest police car and drove off, leaving me in the back seat. “If I make him angry, he would make a mistake and I’ll snatch the gun.” “You won’t get away with this!” I yelled. “Oh yes, I would, once I go back to my hideout, I will dispose off you and any other evidence.
Once again, his eyes were fixed on the road. I slowly inched forward and out of a sudden, I punched him on the face. He dropped his gun and I quickly picked it up. “Stop the car or I’ll fire!” I shouted. The car halted and the police officers who had been tailing at the getaway car got out and chase the man. “You’ll never get me alive,” he said as he took out any gun and pointed it at his head and, “Bang! He fell to the ground. Blood oozed out from his leg. He had misfired. And they rushed the man to the hospital but it was too late.
Two police officers drove me home and explained to my parents, who were very worried about me, about the whole incident that had happened. My parents were very proud of me and they brought out to celebrate my safe return.
When Mr and Mrs Tan came back to Singapore, they thank me and offered me one thousand dollars. “Thanks a lot. Mr Tan!” I immediately bought an Apple iPad and a new iphone.
Since that incident, I had an ambition to become a police officer as I like to solve mysteries and arresting criminals. I would want to make the world a safer place to live in.

Compo 7 by Aaron Loh

"Would you care for a cold drink?" I asked while I fished out my money. "No thanks, I already have a bottle of water." Tim replied. Despite the scorching sun that seemed to bake the ground, Tim and I decided to go to the beach and play beach volleyball before going for a swim in the sea.
The beach was packed with holiday-goers, tourists and small children. The hub-bub of the crowd added to the cheerful atmosphere of the beach. Nobody seemed to be detered by the hot sun. I started gulping down the coke that I bought to quench my thirst. Throwing the bottle away, I decided to resume the game.
"Woosh!" Something big flew overhead and landed into the sea with a big splash! The crowd ceased in its animated chatter and looked to the sea to find out what was going on.
Suddenly, all the hell broke loose and people were running amok, pointing at the far end of the sea. We could make out the figure of a man who was desperately struggling in the water. One of his legs seemed to be injured as he had difficulty keeping himself afloat. Fear gripped me as beads of perspiration flowed down my cheeks. When I came back to my senses, I alerted Tim who was oblivious to the incident as he was lying down to rest. From afar, I spotted something bobbing up and down in the water. It was a toy helicopter! One of its sharp blades must have slashed the man's thigh. The situation started to seemed hopeless.
Fortunately, one of the muscular passer-by had no qualms about saving the man and immediately leapt into the water. He swam towards the man and dragged him towards the shore, where he started to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation on the unconscious man. The injured man's thigh was soaked in blood and there was a nasty gash on it. The passers-by called the ambulance and soon enough, an ambulance van arrived with a few paramedics who transported the man onto a stretcher before escorting him to the hospital.
The heroic and lion-hearted deed of the courageous man did not go unnoticed. Not long after, he was swarmed by a group of swooning beauties. After all, he deserved the attention for what he had done earlier. As for the helicopter, no one knew who had caused the helicopter to splash into the sea. Tim was quite traumatised by the incident. I made a mental note to be more careful of any unidentified flying objects. Lady Luck smiled on us at that time. Who knows for sure what could have happened to us?

This incident would be forever etched in my memory.
