Hi guys may i know the hmwk?:]

“Please stand behind the yellow line,” a gentle voice at the speaker said. It was the sixth time I had heard this at Orchard MRT station. I cursed under my breath as I trembled under my heavy school bag, glancing at my watch form time to time.
I was slowly falling into slumber, and then the gentle voice from the public address system awakened me. “There has been an emergency and a suspected bomb threat. All commuters evacuate the vicinity now! Avoid using the lift if there is a fire!” Suddenly, a loud siren shattered my slumber into pieces. Paranoid commuters trampled up stairs like a herd of wild beasts. Some was trying to squeeze themselves into the sardine-pack elevators. Upon seeing this, I began to panic. I scrambled up the stairs, envisioning the scenario of the bomb explosion.
I jostled through the mass of people running for their lives. Nobody wanted to be trapped in the MRT station, and neither did I. What wrong had I done to be stuck in a crowd with bad breath, a body odor smelling like rancid milk and droplets of perspiration flying in my direction. At the end, I got out to safety with the guide of the guards on duty.
There was no way to get onto another MRT home, I headed to the nearest bus stop to take a bus home. I walked by an electrical shop where television sets were turned on to attract customers. I caught a glimpse of the news saying that the bomb scare was just a hoax to prepare the nation for emergencies.
At this moment, there was only one word to describe how I felt. Anger! “Sigh! Just my luck!” I thought as I boarded the bus home.
Rushing into my flat, I had a quick shower and sat on my chair. I finally understood that be prepared for emergencies is very important to our nation although it was not a pleasant experience.

Dear Friends,

This is my composition which Mr. Thomas asked me to post.. Happy reading :)

Whenever June watched news on bombings, she would remember an incident that happened years ago. Even though she wants to forget it, she cannot seem to. The incident almost cost her life. It all started like this…….
Colours danced across the expanse of the sky in dazzling red, orange and purple as the sun sank in the background. June was strolling toward Orchard MRT station while admiring the scene. She had just finished a day of shopping at Takashimaya. Commuters flooded the MRT station with empty stomachs, going home for a sumptuous dinner. June was squeezing her way to the nearest vacant bench. She managed to sit down before anyone else.
“Tick, tock, tick, tock…..” June heard a ticking sound under the seat. When she looked below, she saw a parcel. At that moment, an announcement was made, “Attention, passengers, please evacuates the station now! There is a bomb in the train!” June thought that the parcel could be a bomb. Children, women and men screamed and shouted. June turn as pale as a ghost and shrieked. She ran as fast as possible without looking back. Pandemonium struck and everyone headed desperately for the emergency exits as the bomb exploded. The evacuated crowd went berserk. Tormented cries of the victims filled the air. June felt a heavy impact which slammed her against the wall. What she saw was beyond her imagination, shattered glass, motionless bodies, injured people groaning in pain and paramedics attending to the injured, she could feel warm blood trickling down her forehead, after that she blacked out.
When she regained her consciousness, she saw her mother wiping her tears off her check. Her father was probably praying for her safety. “Ah, you have finally gained consciousness!” She turned her head to see a doctor smiling at her. “Your face was disfigured as we had to reform it.” The doctor took a mirror and showed her reflection. June was delighted, as this face was the face in her favourite sketch! Her family hugged her tightly. June felt a sharp pain and shouted, “Ouch!” “Whoops, I must have forgotten to tell you that she had fractured some of her bones.” the doctor said. June had to stay in the hospital for weeks before she recovered. She was told by her parents that it was a terrorist bombing which killed more than ten people and injured hundred.
Although this was nothing compared to the September 11th attack, this proves that we must fight against terrorism. So, everybody must play a part in Singapore’s fight against terrorism.

A robbery

"Bang!" The incessant sound of revolvers firing rang through the air as the police fought valiantly against a group of robbers. I stood there, feet rooted to the ground, scared stiff at the thought that I could die! As my life flashed before me, I was reminded of what happened a mere 10 minutes ago... ...

"Refreshing!" I said aloud, while devouring the ice-cream in my hands. I was a 12 year old, studying in Catholic High Primary School. I had a nice tanned skin, accompanied with a round face. I was living comfortably in Singapore, being richer than average. Never would I think that I would be involved in a robbery. On my way home, I decided to withdraw money from my father's bank account; hence I made a short detour to the bank. The bank was fully air-conditioned and it had very comfortable seats. Customers stood in a very neat line as I went to queue up for the ATM machine. As the queue shortened, a black car screeched to a halt at the entrance of the bank. At that exact moment, I felt a chill run down my spine, knowing something terrible was about to happen.

Two masked man came rushing out of the car. One of the men had a cap and pointed a revolver towards the line of customers. "Freeze! If you move, I will KILL you! Hands over your heads!" He shouted. We all put our hands over our heads, fearing for our lives. I was on tenterhooks as the revolver was pointed in my direction. Beads of perspiration formed on my forehead. The other robber had a big bag and threatened to kill the clerk if he did not put the money on the counter. He smiled menacingly as the money appeared on the counter. An evil laughter echoed throughout the bank, as the robbers thought their heist was about to pay off. Unknown to the robbers, the clerk had a plan to foil the robbers. As the clerk went to get the wads of cash, he pressed the panic button, causing an alarm to ring in the nearby police station.

"This is worse than hell! I thought. Two minutes feel like two hours! A police siren raised the alarm of the robbers. "Which one of you called the police? Who did it?" They demanded, as the police sirens grew louder. The robbers pointed their gun at the clerk and shot him in the leg as a warning,"This will serve as a warning to you. If you ever think that pressing the panic button will hell, think again!" With that , they fled.

As the robbers reached the entrance of the bank, two police cars appeared and screeched to a halt, forcing the robbers to retreat into the bank. A group of policemen jumped out of the police cars and pointed their guns at the robbers. "Freeze!" A policeman shouted. Refusing to give up, they went behind the counter, stepping on the injured clerk. They exchanged shots as we ducked for cover, fearing for our lives as one of the robbers was shot in the stomach. He fell down to the floor, toppling over the injured clerk, who was screaming in pain. Seconds later, the other robber fell to the ground after being shot in the hand.

A group of policemen came into the bank. One of them called us to stand up as the others pointed their guns towards the injured robbers who were still moving. Te other policemen stood outside, guns ready to fire, in case the robbers were faking injury. They quickly assured that the robbers were injured. They called for an ambulance and brought us to the police station to take our statements. A policeman called my parents and told them to come to the police station to bring me home. The policeman also explained what happened. I felt a huge weight has be lifted off my shoulders as the robbers were arrested.

After taking my statement, my parents dashed into the room. My parents were on cloud nine to see me alive and not injured in any sort. When they hugged me, I felt a sense of warmth and heaved a sigh of relief. I will never forget this day, March 5th. This robbery will be etched in my mind forever.
